Treating type 2 diabetes in adults. It is used along with diet and exercise. Migtor may be used alone or in combination with other diabetes medicines.
Migtor is a glucosidase inhibitor. It works by slowing down the digestion of carbohydrates into glucose. This results in a smaller rise in blood sugar levels following a meal.

Important safety information:

Proper diet, regular exercise, and regular blood sugar testing are important for best results with Migtor. Follow the diet and exercise program given to you by your health care provider.
Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Migtor before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.

It is a good idea to carry a reliable source of glucose (eg, tablets, gel) to treat low blood sugar. This will raise your blood sugar level quickly. Because Migtor prevents the breakdown of table (cane) sugar, be sure to use glucose (dextrose), not sugar or fruits, to treat symptoms of low blood sugar. Tell your doctor right away if this happens.
Lab tests, including blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin levels, may be performed while you use Migtor. These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
Migtor with should be used with extreme caution in CHILDREN; safety and effectiveness in children have not been confirmed.
PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Migtor while you are pregnant. Migtor is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Migtor.
