  • severe skin reaction--fever, sore throat, swelling in your face or tongue, burning in your eyes, skin pain, followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads (especially in the face or upper body) and causes blistering and peeling.

Common side effects may include:
  • nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, diarrhea;
  • headache, tired feeling;
  • sleep problems (insomnia); or
  • itching, rash.

Use this medicine for the full prescribed length of time. It may take up several weeks before your symptoms improve. Nail infections can take several months to clear completely.

Grisoral will not treat a bacterial or Grisoral infection, or a viral infection such as the flu or a common cold.

If you use this medicine long-term, you may need frequent medical tests at your doctor's office.

Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light.

Who should not take Grisoral?

You should not use Grisoral if you are allergic to it, or if you have:

  • liver failure;

  • porphyria ; or

  • if you are pregnant or may become pregnant.

To make sure Grisoral is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:

  • liver disease;

  • lupus;

  • an allergy to penicillin; or
