• Diabetes patients - Sulfadiazine (Connettivina Plus) may cause incorrect test results with urine tests for ketones. Check with your doctor before you adjust the dose of your diabetes medicine or change your diet.
• Diabetes patients - Sulfadiazine (Connettivina Plus) may cause low blood sugar (eg, increased heartbeat, headache, chills, sweating, tremor, increased hunger, changes in vision, nervousness, weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, fainting). It is a good habit to carry glucose tablets or gel to treat low blood sugar. If you do not have a reliable source of glucose available, eat a quick source of sugar such as table sugar, honey, or candy, or drink a glass of orange juice or nondiet soda to quickly raise your blood sugar level. Tell your doctor immediately about the reaction. To prevent hypoglycemia, eat meals on a regular schedule and do not skip meals.
• Before you have any medical or dental treatments, emergency care, or surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Sulfadiazine (Connettivina Plus).
• LAB TESTS, including blood counts, may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
• Sulfadiazine (Connettivina Plus) is not recommended for use in CHILDREN younger than 2 months of age because they may develop yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice).
• PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant while taking Sulfadiazine (Connettivina Plus), discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Sulfadiazine (Connettivina Plus) during pregnancy. Sulfadiazine (Connettivina Plus) is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Sulfadiazine (Connettivina Plus).
