Relieving nasal congestion due to colds, flu, hay fever, and other allergies. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. Meltus is a decongestant. It works by reducing swelling and constricting blood vessels in the nasal passages, allowing you to breathe more easily.
Important safety information:
Meltus may cause dizziness. This effect may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Use Meltus with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it.
Check with your doctor before you drink alcohol while you are using Meltus.
If your symptoms do not get better within 7 days, if they get worse, or if they occur along with a fever, check with your doctor.
Do NOT take more than the recommended dose or take for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor.

Use Meltus with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects.
Meltus should not be used in CHILDREN younger than 6 years old without first checking with the child's doctor; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, Meltus your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Meltus while you are pregnant. It is not known if Meltus is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Meltus.

Bromocriptine because the risk of its side effects may be increased by Meltus
Guanadrel, guanethidine, mecamylamine, methyldopa, or reserpine because their effectiveness may be decreased by Meltus

How should I take Meltus?

Take Meltus with enough water to be sure that you swallow it completely. Swallow Meltus immediately after you place it in your mouth.
If you miss a dose of Meltus and are taking it regularly, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
